Central Coast and Trasmiera
Cantabria is a community where the beach and the mountains live together. This gives us one of the most striking and beautiful landscapes in hiking. Here on the coast, we have more human presence which allows us to enjoy the mixture of cliffs, beaches and fishing villages. All this next to mountains and valleys with a special salty air.
There are several options to explore the coast:
To the east, the Emerald Coast presents us from the entrance through the Basque Country to Santander a multitude of options among which are the Natural Park of Santoña and Ajo´s Cape (the northest point of the autonomy).
To the west, the Costa Verde dominated by surfing and small villages. There, we will find the dunes of Liencres, towns like Santillana del Mar and pilgrimage routes to Santiago. And this, with the crazy views of Picos de Europa facing the Cantabrian Sea.
